Sr. Consultant JP Merlaud was asked to step in and review services and annual billing for a large retail client with over 320 sites headquartered in the southeastern United States. Over the course of 6 months, JP reviewed their co-location contracts, telco design, phone bill usage and trunking services in play with a wide range of disparate vendors. His review, recommendations and subsequent negotiation of contracts resulted in a net savings of over $1 million annually.
JP worked with the client’s IT team and their carrier and service providers to address a distributed and unmanaged network design. The goal was to improve performance, reliability, and resiliency and reduce costs. The result was an intelligent voice and data circuit design that consolidated and centralized services and aligned with an updated business continuity plan. Streamlining services provided the retailer with over $500,000 in annual savings. Individual store requirements and services were redesigned, resulting in savings exceeding $120,000 per year. Restructuring contracts with co-location providers resulted in further annual reductions of $360,000.
