In recent months, Com-Stat has contracted with many clients to assist in reviewing their maintenance and software assurance agreements that have lapsed or are up for renewal in the near future.
Many clients had not kept up with their software upgrades and were now facing penalties or significant uplifts in order to achieve compliance with their manufacturer requirements for on-going support.
During the engagements Com-Strat noted an emergent need for additional services and projects:
- Telco audit assessments to discover and disconnect circuits and services no longer needed
- Conversion from traditional PRI/T1 circuits to SIP trunking services
- Reviews of new technology to consider features and functionality requirements that may benefit the organization in the future
- Updates of current disaster recovery and business continuity designs to realign with business polices and corporate objectives
- Consideration of new options in the vendor community motivated by consolidation and disruption in the industry
